Love gives all on 121Christiandating.com

‘And if I were so generous as to give away everything I owned to feed the poor, and to offer my body to be burned as a martyr, without the pure motive of love, I would gain nothing of value’. 1 Corinthians 13 v 3. Many of us have read these words and know the words that Jesus said that the greatest gift of the spirit is love. How do you feel about that? It is easy to love the loveable, but can we love the unlovable? The person who gossips about us and the person that we find most annoying? The people I most admire are those willing to give up everything for the poor or to be martyred for their faith: even thinking about people like this makes me feel inadequate. And yet, it had never occurred to me that even such things as these can be done with impure motives.

Finding a Christian partner on 121Christiandating.com, however even this does not mean that we will find this kind of love, as we are all on a journey to be refined by the word of God. Most of us, yes I include myself in this, love people who love us and return the love and goodness that I give them. This is easy. Many people have carried out selfless acts of love and kindness during this COVID-19 pandemic. Acts of kindness and agape love that has required nothing in return.

I saw this today and at first it rang true:

‘Don’t cross oceans for people who wouldn’t cross a puddle for you.’ But then and then I thought of Mother Teresa and her view on things. ‘I have found the paradox that if you love until it hurts, there can be no more hurt, only more love.’ We do need to cross oceans for people. Love people, all people. No conditions. Love is unconditional. Life and love is not about what you gain, it’s about what you give.’ Love has no cost and no price. Jesus loved us when we were at our most unlovable. He suffered for love He gave his life willingly for love. Love must come from pure motives, wanting no recognition or praise. Love is given freely and does not look for recognition.

We are so attuned to getting something for our efforts, that this attitude can seem totally foreign to us, but that is the example that Jesus left us. So when you are dating on 121Christiandating.com we should not be meeting other daters for what we can get out of it. We should be dating to build a relationship based on giving love and kindness and if you are both engaged on this level then both Christian lovers will find joy in bringing pleasure to each other. It’s a challenge to us all as so often we are desperate for significance. It has to be enough that we are pleasing him. Prayer: Lord Jesus, you gave us love unreservedly. You didn’t count the cost or seek adulation when you gave up everything for us. Please help me to do the same, in Jesus’ name.
