Most of us had plans for 2020 and that didn’t include wearing masks and spending most of the year in in lockdown Many older people and even some not so old are feeling fearful and the isolation has led to depression and mental health problems. Just talking to people and communicating in a friendly but meaningful way can make all the difference to a singles day, when they are feeling isolated and alone.
Things have changed in 2020 and the coronavirus has raised the bar for social activity with isolation, stay at home and stay safe and social distancing that has made all of us acutely aware that we are in isolation and many people living alone are lonely and worried about their mental health. Now we are looking forward to a vaccine that could change everything once again. Covid-19 will almost inevitably be used as a backdrop for a romantic comedy or a pandemic movie in the future, so here is your chance to star in your own memory making epic. In the meantime, before the vaccine becomes available, let’s start with date nights, as this is our bit of history in the making! So let’s make the most of it shall we and shine like the creative heroes that we have always imagined that we would be in a crisis.
We have so much technology so let’s use it and go for a virtual walk together. We are allowed out for exercise so spend it together, and show each other the views, that are much quieter now so you can enjoy nature. We don’t need to be side by side to share a laugh and make memories, we could be just in touch over our phones or laptops, after all that is the beauty of tech. It may be a good opportunity to explore deeper issues now that we all have so much more time available.
