When you are vegetarian or are dating a vegetarian you get used to looking up the menu online before you even book the table. The idea of just turning up at a restaurant with your vegetarian date is never a good idea as when you sit down at the table and realise that there is one vegetarian option on the menu and that is tomato soup. It's not going to go down well and the date will end very quickly possibly with your date walking out without eating anything.
You will experience many interesting ways with lentils and vegetables that really taste amazing and a vegetarian diet is not all about Quorn and toasted cheese or beans on toast. Most vegetarians are really good cooks.
If you want proper pork sausages with your mash and peas you are welcome to cook your own or order from the menu, but please brush your teeth before kissing your vegetarian date as we will smell the meat smell on your breath, sorry but it is unpleasant. Think of it like kissing a smoker if you are a non-smoker.
Our vegetarian dish will pretty much always cost less than your meaty one. That should make you smile and make up for any slight inconveniences you might have in checking out the menus before booking the table.
Spoiler alert: not all cheese is vegetarian and neither are all wines and beers and you may have to get used to Marmite on toast as some vegetarians will be eating it to get vitamin B12. Many gel type sweets are not vegetarian and some fizzy drinks are not vegetarian either. A good thing is that you will probably end up eating healthier if vegetarians cook as many have got the protein and fruit and vegetable requirements down to a fine art.
Also make sure your friends and family know that your date is a vegetarian before they spend hours cooking a roast and you date has the peas for lunch.
